GEZOLAN AG optimizes its logistics with a new warehouse in Germany

After having expanded its production capacity in 2018 by opening a new production plant in the USA, GEZOLAN is extending its logistics and warehousing network in the heart of Europe. In response to market demands for enhanced logistics services, the producer of high-quality EPDM granules based in Dagmarsellen, Switzerland, is about to open a new transshipment warehouse in Paderborn, Germany. Since 1 March 2021, GEZOLAN customers benefit from shorter turnaround times, more flexible response options and faster delivery to any location in Central and Western Europe.

Planning for this centralized transshipment warehouse for EPDM rubber granules began well before the COVID19 pandemic. The project has been proven the right decision, especially in the time of coronavirus. GEZOLAN succeeded in winning over Hartmann International GmbH & Co. KG as a partner in this project. As a full-service logistics provider, Hartmann International is already operating a 165,000 m² site in Paderborn of which more than 60,000 m² are used exclusively for logistics. In spring 2021, construction will commence for an additional, state-of-the art logistics center of 20,000 m² for companies from various industries. This logistics park will be fully integrated into a modern infrastructure, offers excellent connections to the German motorway network and is close to the main airports and freight ports in Europe. GEZOLAN will use this new facility to ship its EPDM granules to customers in Germany and neighboring countries.

"Hartmann International is an established logistics company. Thanks to its expertise and reliability, it has been a strong brand for at least five generations. We are delighted that we could win over such a well-established company for our project, and look forward to working together as trusted partners. At Paderborn, Hartmann International was able to offer us a comprehensive and sustainable logistics concept that perfectly matches our needs," says Marco Somaini, Supply Chain Manager at GEZOLAN, convinced of the new partner and the location of the warehouse. At Paderborn, GEZOLAN will store EPDM rubber granules of the GEZOFLEX product range in all standard colors and the standard granule size (1-4 mm), as well as colors in grain sizes 1-3 mm and 0.5-1.5 mm, tailored to customers' needs. Furthermore, the new facility will enable GEZOLAN to cater flexible for specific customer requirements, such as special colors and further granule sizes.

"It is important to point out that the production remains in Switzerland. But the new warehouse brings us closer to the key markets in Central, Western and Northern Europe where many of our strategically important customers are located. From a sales point of view, our project in Paderborn sends out the right signals," explains Michael Karpe, Corporate Sales Director the strategic motivation for the implementation of the new warehouse location. The added value for customers lies in the import and customs clearance that has already done, so that deliveries can be made faster and more flexibly in the future. "We are strengthening our presence in the EU market and accompanying our customers' projects with a valuable logistics solution that is precisely tailored to their needs," says Michael Karpe.

The new warehouse thus demonstrates once more GEZOLAN's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. With the new warehousing facility, the company will be perfectly positioned for further growth in a highly dynamic market.
