GEZOLAN’s US production plant celebrates 5th anniversary

Company is positive about development to date

For 5 years now, GEZOLAN has been producing its EPDM granules not only at the main plant in Switzerland, but also at a production plant in the USA. The Buford, GA location opened with a grand ceremony on June 21, 2018. Establishing a new production plant in the USA was a major milestone in the company’s history. GEZOLAN is therefore taking the anniversary as an opportunity to look back at the early days of the US plant, to celebrate the achievements so far and to venture an outlook on future development. 

Everyone involved knew from the beginning that it would be a huge project to establish a new location. However, the reasons for choosing a production plant in the USA were convincing enough for the organization to tackle the challenge. Especially the proximity to the North American market and the expansion of production capacities were determining factors for the decision to build a new production plant in the USA.

Within five years, the location has outgrown its infancy to become an established manufacturer of high-quality EPDM granules in the USA. The state-of-the-art production plant in Buford, GA allows GEZOLAN to manufacture its high-quality EPDM granules for sports and leisure flooring right in the USA. In line with the company's guiding principle, we // live // quality, the US location has enabled GEZOLAN to create shorter delivery routes and lead times for the company’s local customers. With about 30 employees in total, daily production and availability for the North American market are assured. A large part of the existing GEZOLAN color range is already being manufactured right in Buford for the North American market, and capacities are constantly being expanded to include all 22 standard colors. The plant in Buford now even has the flexibility to implement special customer requests, such as custom colors or granule sizes. With its own US sales team, GEZOLAN also ensures excellent support for its North American customers. The company’s presence in the US therefore guarantees optimal availability of top-quality EPDM granules and the best possible service.

In addition to economic endurance, the success of such a project requires above all a strong team of dedicated, motivated and tireless employees. Our thanks therefore go to all employees whose daily work contributes to the success of the plant and the company as a whole. The employees will therefore be at the focus of the plant’s 5th anniversary celebration. The celebration will include, for example, an event for the employees on the date of the official opening.

The new plant has allowed GEZOLAN to further expand its worldwide network of distributors and partners in the sports and leisure flooring sector, to acquire new customers and to continuously develop and intensify relations with existing customers. These factors have resulted in a substantial increase in sales on the North American market and have made an enormous difference in the corporate success of GEZOLAN in recent years. The US plant, as well as GEZOLAN as a whole, has a positive outlook on the future and is confident that both locations will continuously benefit from each other in the coming years, so that GEZOLAN will continue to successfully defend its top position as the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality rubber granule solutions.
