On-site solar power for the GEZOLAN site in Dagmersellen

Installation across multiple buildings
The system has been installed across several buildings: on both roofs of the high-bay warehouse buildings, on the loading dock canopy, and on the roof of the rubber granulation unit. In total, this results in a covered area of around 2,000 m².

With an installed capacity of approximately 500 kWp and a total of 1,028 modules, the system is expected to generate around 390 MWh of electricity per year. A large share of this energy can be used directly on site, with a projected self-consumption rate of more than 85%. Overall, GEZOLAN will be able to cover around 8% of its total electricity demand with its own solar power.

Implementation and framework conditions
The entire project – from planning through installation to commissioning – was completed within just a few months. At the same time, it involved complex requirements in both planning and execution. In addition to structural conditions, regulatory and safety requirements played a key role. These included fire protection standards as well as fall protection and roof safety measures. All required building and grid connection approvals were obtained and completed on schedule.

Contribution to sustainable development
The high self-consumption rate shows that a large portion of the energy generated can be used directly in operations – an important step toward more energy-efficient and resource-efficient production.
